Access to Beacon Hill
Many of you may have noticed the new entry systems at the Car Parks. The entry process is now slower and is one of the reasons we have moved the location of the event to the Top car park at Beacon Hill.
On the day we will not be using the main entrance but will have a dedicated entrance just downhill of the main entrance. This will be marked. We have also included the car parking fee in the entry fee so you will not have to pay for car parking on the day.
Finishers Medals and Goody bags
We have been asked by a number of entrants if there will be medals this year. I can confirm that the medals are ordered and will be given out to all finishers on the day. There will also be a Goody bag for all 3k finishers and an enhanced Goody bag for all 10k finishers
Sponsorship of charities
You will see on the website that the three main charities this year are Women’s Refuge Leicestershire, Charnwood Young Carers and Age UK Leicester Shire and Rutland. You can select to support any one of these or as a fourth option choose ‘Let Rotary Decide’.
If, however, you wish to nominate a charity of your choice then choose ‘Let Rotary Decide’ on your entry form, download the Sponsorship form from the website and on that form enter the charity you wish to support. When we receive your form together with the funds you have raised we will add some Gift Aid (providing it is eligible) and allocate your funds to that chosen charity. We will let you know the total value of money raised for that chosen charity after the event.
Due to an error on our behalf we failed to change the nominated charities on the entry form from those supported last year. Whilst we still support both MS Society and Headway they are not our main beneficiaries this year (see above the two new names). If you have already entered and named one of the last year’s beneficiaries you can leave it in place or change to a new charity by emailing email@example.com with your name and the new charity and we will adjust your database entry details.
In order to keep costs down as much as possible we will not be giving out T shirts on the day, however, there is a limited supply of T shirts available with the Bunny logo which will be on sale on the day. They will cost £2.50 each or £4 for 2. Get to Beacon Hill early to ensure you get one as when they are gone then they are gone!
The start will be combined 10 km and 3 km with the 10 km at the front. This will be at 11.00 am. This year the start will be in the top Car Park then into the new woodland. Everyone does the same first loop which is just 3 km. The 10 km runners will return to the start area but go to the left of the finish and go on a second loop (not the same loop as first time around) and this loop is just over 4km down to the bottom of Beacon Hill then back up to the top. The final loop for the 10km run will be a shorter version of the first loop in the new woodland area. The finish for both runs will be the opposite direction to the start.
Joining on the day
Registration will be open from about 9.30 for collection of Bib Numbers to which timing chips will have been attached. The collection and will be in alphabetical order. A further reminder of joining will be sent in the week leading up to the Race Day.
